Huayangosaurus was found in China, it was an early stegosaur. Huayangosaurus is one of the most primitive and best represented of all stegosaurs. It had two rows of small, paired plates on its back and narrow spikes by its shoulders. Huayangosaurus had teeth in the front of its snout, long front legs, and its plates were narrow and thick. These characteristics differ from other later stegosaurs.
