Dacentrurus was a large herbivore dinosaur. Dacentrurus had paired triangular plates down its spine. These plates helped the dinosaur to protect against other predators. It also had four pairs of spikes at the end of its tail. Dacentrurus would have lowered its head and shoulders when being attacked, to expose its plates for protection. At the same time turning sideways and swing its tail from side to side, ready to attack.
