Edaphosaurus

Edaphosaurus lived during the Permian Period 280 million years ago in what is now North America and Europe. Edaphosaurus was 11 feet (3.5 meters) long. Edaphosaurus was a quadrupedal herbivore reptile. It had peg-like teeth that were adapted for striping vegetation. Edaphosaurus lived near lakes and edges of swamps. It had a distinctive row of skin covered spines along its back. Edaphosaurus had a long slender tail. It sprawled while moving around holding its body close to the ground.
