Prehistoric Land

Moschops lived during the Permian Period 260 million years ago in what is now South Africa. It measured 16 feet (5 meters) long. Moschops was the biggest of all mammal like reptiles. It was a herbivore with a barrel like body, short tail, and thick legs. Moschops grazed on low laying plants, just as cattle do today. Moschops had a bulky body. It walked on all four with the forelimbs sprawled outwards, in the same manner modern reptiles do. Researchers suggest that Moschops may have lived in small herds from evidence of fossil finds.
